Kris, I want a 'special shovel' too.
If you won't do anything about bots, and are actively collaborating with the worst offenders, could you implement a 'bot' button that deactivates all my ships modules but causes 50M ISK/hr to be deposited in my wallet?

If you won't do anything about bots
Removing bots would destroy the economy. The bots do jobs that no one else wants to do--removing them would break the market.
Spoken like a true bot-user. Of course it's nonsense, but even if it were true then all players should have the opportunity to participate.

Wait, Paul Clavet? Is that you?
Bunch of addicts with their 'rabble, rabble, rabble' using any excuse to pretend that it's all better now so that they can get their next fix.
Wish they'd 'show some brass ones' and say 'I'm addicted to EVE. Don't take my complaints seriously in future. Please use lube maybe unless you don't want to that's okay too.'

I was watching these two people have this internal debate within CCP, I thought it was fascinating:
Employee 1: "WeÆre a very open company. A lot of us post on the EVE Online forums; quite a few of us have a twitter account etc. Most of us really love spaceships and donÆt mind talking about them whenever we get a chance. I donÆt answer every single tweet with my name in it, but I manage to reply to a lot of them. ItÆs pretty cool, I think all the secrecy in entertainment is pretty silly, so I enjoy being able to talk to the community about everything from the Reykjavik weather to internet spaceships.
The majority of concerns people have arenÆt exactly industry secrets, so there is no reason to gag your employees."
Employee 2: "There is a pretty overwhelming perception amongst EVE players that these changes are bad. I think they're brilliant, but our players don't. We're going to face an uphill struggle, and the reason many of us never talk about this publically [sic] is that we'd be burned at the stake by the players."
Then I realized it was just Soundwave talking to himself.

If you say so brosef. I had already alluded to the fact on more than one occasion that I was using the opportunity to metagame, yeah I was ****ed off initially but between everything else im playing being a pile of suck, my friends wanting me back, and seeing what I would regard as some genuine discourse from Soundwave im satisfied.
Im not exactly hurting for isk and could plex up for several years on each account so screw it, if CCP do kill the game in the near future at least i can say " I WAS THERE ".
and just for you : Im addicted to eve, don't take (me) or my complaints seriously in the future.
I think you're confusing 'gelatinous discharge' with 'genuine discourse'. You do realize Soundwave is a goon, right? You do recognize after years of playing EVE when you're being trolled, right?

I couldn't figure out why your name seemed so familiar and then it dawned on me. You were my very first killmail! Cheers to you for that.

What if I like sandboxes, not being lied to, not being double-billed, not having to compete with bots, and finished content, Alex. What should I do then? (And sorry, but forming a huge alliance so I can vote myself CSM chair and getting one of my cronies hired by CCP as lead developer guy isn't feasible for me atm.)

So anyway, you've got a goon running CSM and a goon in charge of developing internet spaceships. And the goon in charge of developing internet spaceships has this to say:
"IÆve started using the CSM quite a lot. TheyÆre the first line of sanity check we do, so whenever we make a large change, thatÆs been run by the CSM. The original design/thoughts are put on the CSM forum, they give us feedback, and we make changes to the design and then implement it. You shouldnÆt underestimate just how important they have become to the process. WeÆre doing 0.0 development work right now, and theyÆve been shown most of the stuff weÆve come up with, pretty much straight away. ItÆs a bit strange at first, to have work reviewed like that, but once you get used to it the feedback is invaluable."
So a goon asks a bunch of goons how he should spend his insanely limited resources on EVE.
And the other goon, who doesn't even play EVE or know **** all about much of EVE (such as wormholes) and who has explicitly stated that he only represents goons is his 'sanity check.'
What could possibly go wrong?

I don't hate goons, per se. (Is it a little more troubling that it's goons (known primarily for scamming, griefing and asshattery) and not some other group, yeah, sure.) I hate broken EVE. And sandbox games break when specific groups within the sandbox get given 'special shovels' (or disproportionate influence over game development.)

Originally by: Thermoss Devlin I have to say that after listening/reading the latest interview. I have come to revive my faith and trust for that CCP will maintain the culture of EVE.
Was that stofferninjapirate/Touborg in that interview? I thought it was the ghost of Billy Mays.
